Gremlins: The Last Batch

Synopsis:

After fifteen years of working as the mascot for Clamp industries Gizmo and his owner Bill decide it’s time for him to retire. Clamp still needs a mascot so they agree to create one new Mogwai to take Gizmo’s place and they name him Gidget. Unlike past Mogwai Gidget is nice and friendly since he was created on purpose instead of unintentionally while Gizmo was under duress. Gidget becomes the new Clamp mascot and he is a huge hit.

A few years go by and Clamp Industries starts getting into the entertainment and travel business headed up by the owner Daniel Clamp’s Brother Richard. The newest venture is a cruise line. On the ship’s maiden voyage Richard insists that Gidget come along but Bill and Gizmo refuse until Richard points out that they are contractually obligated to go. They take every precaution they can think of to make sure Gizmo and Gidget don’t get wet but of course it’s not enough. Eventually Gizmo accidentally gets wet and after seeing it Gidget gets himself wet out of curiosity. The Mogwai brood that come from Gizmo immediately reject him and run off but Gidget’s brood stick with him and they convince him to cause havoc around the ship despite Gizmo’s objections.

Thanks to the many midnight buffets offered on the ship Gizmo’s brood quickly turn into Gremlins and start relentlessly picking on Gidget and his Mogwai. As retaliation they decide to transform as well. Gizmo tries to stop them but fails and then chaos erupts on the ship as both groups of Gremlins start going to war with each other. Both factions add more to their ranks and the humans on board get caught in the middle of the war while Bill and Gizmo try and figure out a way to stop it. Gizmo tries to reach Gidget but he soon becomes unreachable having fully embraced being a Gremlin.

The Gremlins start messing with the inner working of the ship and Bill realizes they could cause the ship to sink which would lead to a never ending stream of Gremlins. Gizmo communicates to Bill that he needs to get all the humans off the ship so he can stay and deal with the Gremlins. Bill refuses but Gizmo insists by conveying to Bill that the world will always be threatened by Gremlins if even a single Mogwai exists. Gizmo doesn’t want to endanger the world anymore, he wants to save it. Bill works with Richard to evacuate the ship leaving only the Gremlins and Gizmo on board.

Gizmo uses his knowledge and experience to create a series of death traps around the ship using improvised weapons, electricity, heavy objects, and finally he uses the ships gas line and rigs the inside to blow. After a final confrontation with Gidget, Gizmo lights up the ship in a wave of fire wiping out every creature on board ridding the world of Gremlins once and for all.
